Learn to Let Go

Once there was rich person named Edward living in a village. He was a very righteous man. He had a beautiful wife. His wife suffered from a disease and eventually passed away. Before she passed away she said to him to marry another woman as he was still in his middle age.

After a year, Edward married another woman. But, the women didn’t love Edward; instead she loved his money. One day when Edward was out of town she took all the jewelry and gold, and left the town. He was really depressed after the incident and was eventually fed up with life.

He went near a river, to jump and commit suicide. A monk passing by saw Edward and wanted to help him. He asked Edward to take water from river with two hands and hold it. Edward did as instructed by the monk. He tried hard to hold the water in his hands. The more he tried, the more stressed he was. Finally, the monk asked him to leave the water from his hand. Edward felt relaxed. Monk then said that the more you hold on to things which don’t help in anyway the more stressed you get.

The moral of the story is that is one should learn to let go of the past.

Once, there were two squirrels living in a forest. The two squirrels didn’t like each other. They both collected food and didn’t share with each other. One day a wood cutter came and chopped the tree of the first squirrel.

The first squirrel lost its home and food it had. It was a cold winter and squirrel didn’t have any home. Other trees were occupied by birds and other animals. The first squirrel went to the second squirrel and asked for help. The second squirrel said it didn’t have any room for him, and his home was filled with food. The first squirrel asked second squirrel to at least give some food. The second squirrel said that food was not sufficient to survive the winter. The squirrel left the place depressed.

A bird saw the pathetic condition of the squirrel and offered shelter and food the squirrel. The squirrel was grateful to the bird for the help it offered. After the winter the squirrel thanked the bird and searched for another home.

After few months the portion of forest caught fire and the home of second squirrel was destroyed. Now the second squirrel was homeless. The second squirrel almost starved to death, the bird saw the second squirrel and offered some food. The squirrel was thankful to the bird and asked the bird why it helped him. The bird said that everyone faces problems, but we should not be arrogant in good times because someday even we might face the same problem. The second squirrel understood its mistake and thanked the bird for helping.

Help someone when in trouble so that we might also receive a helping hand when we are in trouble.

Don’t Blame Circumstances

Julie was a sincere police officer. She solved many mysteries and tackled crimes in the city. She was respected by the public and hated by the criminals.  She does all her work promptly. One morning, Julie woke up late since her clock stopped working.  She was very upset because she never went late to police station. She quickly dressed herself and skipped her breakfast to go early to the police station. When she went to her garage she noticed that her police jeep tyre was punctured. She treated it as a bad omen. She took another vehicle and left for police station.

On her way, she was stuck in the traffic. Julie was surprised because she was never stuck in traffic when she took that particular route. She started cursing God for the series of events that were taking place. She took another route to station and reached police station finally.

Upon reaching the station, she came to know that a building caught fire and collapsed on the road. Many people were injured and some lost their lives on the road including the residents in the building. Then she realized why there was traffic jam on her way to the police station.  If she started early she would have also been the victim of the mayhem.

If something goes wrong, never blame the circumstances or God.  Remember, all that happens for good!

Once there was a boy named Mark, born to a wealthy family.  At the age of 10 his parents gifted him a puppy.  It was adorable. Mark spent a lot of time with the puppy. Every day after school, he took the dog for a walk and played with it.  He treated it just like a friend.

As the time passed by, Mark grew older and had to go to another city to pursue his graduation. Every day the dog would go to the gate and wait for Mark, hoping that he would return. After completion of graduation, he returned his home.  The dog wanted to play with Mark, but he didn’t show any interest as he was preoccupied with his work. He took care of his family business.

Mark was married when he was 25 years old. The dog still wanted to play with Mark, but Mark had did not have time to spend with the dog. He just asked his maid to take care of the dog. Every day the dog sat near him when he was reading.

After some years, Mark faced financial crisis and was almost bankrupt. He was always depressed; his wife left him, his friends didn’t visit him and all the money lenders used to come every day to his house. He was always alone, but the dog still stayed by his side. Then he realized that he always had a friend who was right beside him, but always ignored. Mark cleared his debts and regained his status. From that time onwards, everyday he spent time with his dog. The dog was really happy to play with him again.

Value the ones who are always with you.

Once there was a boy named Robert. He was a very imaginative person. He used to spend lot of time with his computer. He was the topper in his class, but he never participated in any kind of physical activity or sports. He didn’t participate in school sports club and never plays any sport.

He had several achievements as he grew old, but he had many health problems. He had diabetes and vision problem. Even after knowing that he had to do some physical activities he concentrated on his work.  Because of this he died early.

So take care of your health and invest your time in some physical activities.

“Be a Candle”

They was a boy named Ron, he went to super market with his mother. He bought all the eatables he required. When he came out of the super market a beggar approached him and asked something to eat. Ron immediately pushed him away and went on. His mother observed this from a distance, as she was near the car.

When they went home his mother took him to a room and bought a candle. Ron was confused what was going on. She lit the candle and asked Ron to observe the candle. He started watching it, and he didn’t understand a thing. The Ron’s mother switched off the lights. Now the entire room was filled with light from the candle. Ron observed the candle until it was finished. His mother told him that the candle sacrificed itself for giving light to everyone. We don’t have to sacrifice, but we could at least share the things we have. Then Ron understood his mistake.

Give something to people which you can. Never expect in anything in return.

Ron was a 12 year old boy lived in a hamlet.  He was simple, honest and humble. He loved is father and mother very much. They were poor lived in slums. His father worked in construction site for carrying bricks, sand and cement. Even though they were poor they were happy family. One day his father was removed from the work because there were enough works for constructing the building.

Days passed, Ron’s father couldn’t find another job. All their food resources were exhausted and no other jobs were available. One night, Ron saw his father leaving the house without telling anyone, even to his mother. The next day when Ron got up his father and mother were happy chatting.  His father has ordered all the groceries. Ron asked his father from where they got hose groceries. His father told that his friend helped him. Ron thought that that was the reason his father left the house the day before.

After few days the town’s police came and arrested his father. Ron didn’t understand why the police were arresting his father.  When Ron questioned the police they said his father has committed a crime by stealing from a house and they had evidence. Ron was dumb struck, and couldn’t believe what he heard. After that day people started looking low at him and his mother.

The moral of the story is that never indulge in wrong activities even during tough times.
