Once upon a time a boy was born in a poor family. His name was Marshall. He was an ordinary kid. He was average in his studies. He had flair for writing. In fact, he was a born writer. In school, he always scored the highest marks in English but not in other subjects. At times he failed in others subjects.

By twelve years of age, he achieved full command over English. He had written nearly hundred stories when he was barely in fourteen. Somehow he completed his high school education by qualifying in other subjects. Since his parents could not afford higher education he joined for higher education through scholarship.

Marshall enjoyed interacting with talented students in the university. His English language skills grew further in the new academic ambience. However he could not cope up with other subjects. As a result, university removed him. Somehow he managed to graduate from other university finally.

As he grew he developed more interest in intellectual pursuits and wrote several stories and articles. He approached for publication. Unfortunately there were no takers for his writings. Once a person by name Hardy encountered Marshal and asked for outright selling of articles for peanuts. Marshall sold out as he needed money badly. Besides, Hardy insisted on the copyrights for Marshall’s future writings. Finally Marshall agreed.

Hardy published the stories in a reputed magazine and earned a lot. He also got an award for the best writer. Finally Marshall wrote a last story titled ‘Unsung Hero’ which reflected his biography and died. Hardy sold out even the last contribution and made good money.

Some people are identified through manipulations. While some die as unsung heroes despite having vast talents. People admire the sweet smell and color of the flower but they don’t admire the root which was responsible for its survival.

Fruits are never enjoyed by the roots!
