Once in a forest, there was a lion who was the king of the forest. He used to rule the whole forest effectively. All the animals followed the orders of the king. One fine day, a rabbit thought of becoming the king of the forest. So the rabbit first proposed the idea to his fellow members and they all agreed. Rabbit conveyed the same to other animals in the forest.

Some animals decided to change the king. When the lion heard this news he was startled. He felt upset and told the animals that it was unfair think like that. He persuaded others through various means but failed. Rabbit got the idea of conducting elections to ascend the kingdom.

The rabbit started the party by name ‘Raising King’ and the lion started the party by name ‘Forest’s King’. Rabbit along with its members started campaign in all parts of the forest. He promised many things that he would do when he comes to the power. The lion also started its campaign in the forest and explained the things that it did in the past and promised that it would protect and maintain the forest well.

Finally the voting day came. Animals from all the parts of the forest cast their votes. Results declared that ‘Rising King’ (rabbit) party won the election. Rabbit ascended the throne. The lion was completely ignored and humiliated. Rabbit formed the ministry and majority of the positions were allotted to rabbits. Rabbit rule was very horrible. Rabbit backtracked from his political promises. Finally forest became anarchy.

One day the forest was attacked by few tigers. Many animals were being killed and the rabbit fled away to another forest. At that crisis, the lion swung into action. When majority of the animals were being cornered by the tigers, the lion fought up to its last breath and made the tigers to run for their lives. Lion saved the forest from the outrageous attack. All the animals helped the lion to heal its wounds and realized their folly. Finally the lion ascended the throne.

Conclusion:

Lion behaved like a leader by swinging into action at the time of crisis. However rabbit behaved like a manager and could not manage the crisis and fled. Both leaders and managers are different in styles and functions. For leading any kingdom, people need leaders rather than managers.
